Fire Safety Requirements

Permits are required for the following and can be obtained thru the Event Coordinators.

Pyrotechnics

Pyrotechnicians must have an approved theatrical or special effects first class license. The permit fee is $66 per show and must be issued at least one week prior to the event date. A demonstration for the Fire Marshall may also be necessary prior to the event.

Tents/Canopies

The construction of tents or canopies is done by our in-house carpenters. A permit must be acquired for a fee of $27 per tent. Locations of tents and canopies must be approved by the Fire Marshall.

Seating Plans

All seating arrangements must be approved by the Fire Marshall.

Novelty Stands

If approved for use in advance, locations of any novelty stand at the PPG Paints Arena must be approved by the Fire Marshall. A floor plan may need to be submitted for approval prior to the event. All packaging debris must be removed periodically to not create a hazard. The Fire Department may require a flame retardant certificate for questionable materials.
